Food Dehydrators

Stackable tray and shelf dehydrators for jerky, dried fruit, vegetable chips and herbs.

Food dehydrator performance depends on watt rating, temperature range and airflow direction. A rear-mounted fan (horizontal airflow) distributes heat evenly across all trays without requiring tray rotation during drying; a bottom-mounted fan (vertical airflow) requires tray rotation every few hours because the lowest trays receive more heat than the top trays. A temperature range of 95 to 165 degrees Fahrenheit covers herbs and flowers at the low end and meat jerky at the high end. A 600-watt model dehydrates a full load of beef jerky in 4 to 6 hours; a 400-watt model takes 8 to 12 hours. This section covers food dehydrators by watt rating, fan direction, tray count and the temperature range that determines what foods can be safely dehydrated.
